Like my doctor.no one is rude to me

My primary doctor there is great. The lab (Mid America Clinical Labs) is staffed by very rude people who treat you like you are a bother to them. The radiology techs are very nice, but the check-in folks are rather cold. The building does not have a warm, welcoming feel to it. It is rather drab and cold.

I have not been a patient here long. I have only met with the nurse practitioner, and she was okay. Seemed to know what she was doing, but the appointment was only an initial visit and no medical examination was needed. My biggest complaint is that when you call with a question or to talk to someone to schedule an appointment, you are on hold for FOREVER. I have been sitting here waiting to talk to a receptionist for well over 15 minutes. It's unacceptable.

The billing department has historically remained rude and they often patch calls back and forth to one another, each person claiming that they were never the right person to send the call to in the first place. That seems to be routine for most hospital billing departments, however.

Scheduling and professionalism appears to be a problem here, particularly with support staff. When calling in for appointments or other information, I have had to ask the schedulers to have staff speak more softly in the background due to HIPAA violations I could overhear because of the volume of their voices.

The ER is mediocre, at best. This place definitely lacks friendliness.

When addressing medical issues or side effects from medications, it can take multiple days to get a call back, even when leaving multiple messages. I have been told that phone call messages are put off until the very end of the day, even if the call is to avoid medical emergency and hospital admissions due to medication side effects. This is disconcerting that they do not seem to factor in medical need.

That being said, while it has usually taken me about 1-2 months to get into to see my PCP, I can usually get in to see the NP within 1-2 weeks. While they are impatient in face to face interactions, they will at least sit through longer if you explain that it is needed. The nurses appear to be kind.

Appointments often feel rushed with the physicians.
