It's better than best buy. Prices are competitive. Customer service is questionable though. In an age where stores are closing because of the internet Giants, you would think stores like this would focus on customer service more.
It's a great place to go pick up computer components you may need or pieces to build your own computer. For everything else can be easily found online or elsewhere. We asked for help a few times in different departments. The first and second time the associates we spoke with we're very helpful. The last time the associates we spoke to did not want to help us out at all. So it's a hit or miss there. But you get what your looking for here. It's a. Ice place to try out different accessories that you can't do when you order online.
My husband and I had to bring in a laptop that was would not boot properly. My husband had warranty so the technician ran a Dx on it and explained it would need to be shipped to Dell. They provided a loaner laptop of almost as nice as the one we brought in.(to my husbands happy surprise) They were very polite and through. My first experience with them and I will definitely be a return customer. Oh yeah, it only took about 10 days to get his computer back.
I've always enjoyed visiting a Fry's when I can. Unfortunately this one needs better staff. A couple guys we talked to were great. But an associate we talked to, that was dressed like a manager, basically blew us off. We asked about an item's price on the clearance table and he said he wasn't sure and then started playing on his cell phone. Now I understand why a lot of associates were on their cell phones on the sales floor! Monkey see; monkey do.
This store uses to be so much more. Now it's just a shell of it's former self. Shelves are disorganized and sloppy. Half the items I looked at were in open boxes or poorly packaged returns. Nobody asked to help me find what I was looking for. Checkout was a joke. About 20 people in line, and only one register open. There were a dozen employees standing around in the checkout area not doing anything. Sad, but I probably won't ever be back.
